About us

The L30’s Million partnership is responsible for guiding the overall direction of Big Local activity in our area.

The partnership is made up of at least eight members who live, volunteer or work in the community. Many of our members have been involved in Big Local for many years.

The partnership meets every month to work through an agenda, making decisions, evaluating how things are going and planning for future work. L30’s Million has one paid employee, Emma Anker, who is our Community Builder.

Who we work with

We work with Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire & Merseyside as the locally trusted organisation (LTO). As LTO, they administer and account for the distribution of L30’s Million Big Local funding.

Groundwork is one of a federation of charities mobilising practical community action on poverty and the environment across the UK. Find out more about their work on the Groundwork website or email Dan on dan.ellis@groundwork.org.uk

Our Big Local plan

The partnership is guided by a Big Local plan. Each of our plans has been shaped by our engagement with the local community and the things they’ve told us are important to them.

Our previous plans

The next plan will be published in August 2023 and will focus on our activities until the end of the programme and the legacy we hope to leave for our community.

Meet Emma and Suey

Meet two of the members of the L30’s Million team and find out how you can get in touch about our work in the community.

Meet Emma

Hi, I’m Emma and I am the L30’s Million Community Builder. I am based within the St Oswalds Ward in Netherton, working alongside the community.

Netherton has such a strong community spirit and I am so lucky to have lived here all my life and be part of it.

“I enjoy visiting the wide range of activities, groups and community assets, meeting people and building relationships and connections.”

People are Netherton’s biggest asset and I enjoy discovering the wealth of talents, skills and passions within the community and connecting these so things can happen. You may have seen me around on my Walk About Wednesday every week, when I am out and about chatting and sharing news and ideas, and having great conversations.

If you have an idea, suggestion or question, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you and have a chat.

Meet Suey

Hi, I am Suey and I am L30’s Million Health & Wellbeing Connector.

I have lived in Netherton for many years and have over 40 years of experience in the fitness industry. I am out connecting with the community through the variety of classes I deliver every week. All classes are open to everyone and can be enjoyed at every level of fitness.

Health and wellbeing is my passion and it would be great to meet you. Please contact me with any questions or ideas.
